This hat is named after the fictional character Tuppence Beresford, who was created by mystery writer Agatha Christie.

In her stories, Tuppence always had a hat to match the mood and circumstances of the mysteries she and her husband Tommy were solving. She also was quite the knitter in her mid to later years!

I feel she would have liked this cloche. It is simple and elegant on the surface, but with many interesting details underneath to create that illusion. Very much like Tuppence herself.

The pattern is the same for all sizes of the cloche. Changes in needle size and gauge alter the final size of the cloche.

Yarn Suggestions
The cloche is knitted using DK weight to Aran weight yarns, using between 160-200 meters of yarn

The white hat was made in Elsebeth Lavold Silky Wool and the purple hat was made in Rowan Calmer.
